Privacy Policy

This policy explains how SMART Drive Health handles personal data collected through this website. It covers what is collected, why, how long it is kept, and how to request changes. It applies to visitors of smartdrivehealt.live.

In this document

A plain summary of how a diagnostic-reference site handles the small amount of personal data visitors send our way — and what stays inside your own browser.

Last updated 5 October 2026.

What we receive

Information collected

The site collects information you choose to submit through the contact form, which may include your name, email address, drive model, and the attribute values you describe. Basic technical data such as browser type and pages visited may be logged by the hosting provider for security and reliability.

Our contact form is the only place where a visitor can hand us personal information on purpose. If you write feeling in about a failing drive, everything you type in that form arrives with your message; we don't ask for a phone number, a serial number, or a system report unless the conversation actually needs one.

What we do and do not collect

  • Collected: the details you type into the contact form yourself.
  • Collected: ordinary server logs the hosting provider keeps for abuse detection and uptime.
  • Not collected: measurements you enter into the drive health calculator. That runs client-side.
  • Not collected: account logins, drive serial numbers, or payment details. There is nowhere on this site to submit them.

Why we keep it

How information is used

Submitted information is used to answer your message and, where relevant, to update the reference data on the site. It is not sold, rented, or used for advertising profiles. Aggregated technical logs are used to keep the site working and to detect abuse.

In practice: if you send us a screenshot-free description of Reallocated Sectors Count behaviour on a Seagate Barracuda, that message may be used to sharpen the attribute notes we publish for the drive family. Your name and email address are never attached to the published note.

Nothing leaves your browser

The health calculator

The drive health calculator runs entirely in your browser. Values you enter into it are not transmitted to the server and are not stored. The tool does not require an account.

Close the tab, and the numbers are gone. That includes Power-On Hours, Temperature, Reallocated Sectors Count, and Current Pending Sector — the four readings we use most often when a visitor asks whether a drive is worth keeping.

Attribute values you type into the calculator stay on your device — nothing is uploaded, logged, or attached to your message.

Small files, one purpose

Cookies

The site may use cookies for basic functionality and analytics. Details of the types of cookies and how to control them are set out in the cookie policy.

Cookies here do simple jobs: keeping a page from bouncing you back to the top when you return, and counting visits in a way that does not identify you. They are not used to build a profile of what drives you have asked us about.

Kept only as long as needed

Retention

Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the request and any follow-up. Corrections that change reference data may be retained as part of the site's record of updates.

In plain terms: a question about Temperature thresholds gets answered, gets closed, and the message behind it goes with it. What survives is the corrected note on the attribute page — no personal names, no email addresses.

If something is wrong

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have submitted. Requests can be made through the contact page. Where local law provides additional rights, those rights are respected.

Access

Ask what we hold about you and we will describe it in a reply — the message you sent, the reply we gave, and nothing we invented around it.

Correction

Typed the wrong drive model or a stale reading? Say so and the record of your message is amended instead of replaced.

Deletion

A deletion request removes the correspondence from our inbox records. It does not remove an aggregate note about an attribute we publish.

Stated honestly

Security

Reasonable measures are used to protect submitted information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and this policy does not promise otherwise.

The strongest protection a page like this can offer is restraint: the calculator does not send anything, and the contact form is the only place a visitor voluntarily hands us anything at all. If you would rather not put a drive model or a set of readings into a message, describe the problem in words instead — that is enough for a reply.

Version in effect

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in practice or law. The current version is the one published on this page.

When the substance changes — a new data source, a new retention period, a new right you can exercise — the update date at the top of this page changes with it. Small wording clean-ups do not get a new date.
